Why a baby food day?

The International Baby Food Day was founded on April 17 2021, by GroGro, with a goal to spread the knowledge about the importance of food for children. The focus was to shed light on a topic that receives far too little attention - nutrition and health in young children. Specifically, what types of food are we providing to our little ones and how does it affect their development?

Every year GroGro arrange different activities, events, podcast, inviting experts within the area. Underneath you can see the privious years`s activities.

In 2024 in Norway there will be a live on Instagram together with Stine Svarthe Pedersen from BareBraBarnemat. In Sweden there will be a handout of nutritious food in Stockholm area where there is needed.

All parents deserve to get the knowledge needed to take better food choises for their children. Children deserve high quality, taste food, to optimize their development and to lay the foundation of a good food relationship for a lifetime.

Listen to the 2023 podcast Barn & Mat

Listen to doctor and writer Carina Saunders talk about the development of the gut microbiom and what we as parents can do to support it.

Listen to the scientist and writer Frida Vennerød Diesen discuss taste development, phases within a child's food adventure and how some people just are born as supertasters.

And of course many more!
